UK Government to spend £650 to improve Cyber Security

I have seen this coming for a long time, that the police would need to sharpen it’s skills on the digital protection front.

This article in the Evening Standard (I believe) of the 25th of November 2011 explains that the police is now outsourcing it’s cyber crime devision to cyber specials who can work with the Police to target Cybercrime.

This is interesting to read that they are also committing to £650 million to improve cyber security and get more people trained up as security experts. I’m already aware of Universities like Middlesex University in NW London, that have been providing training to Police as well as post graduates on Forensic Computing so I can only see that Forensic Computing and “Ethical Hacking” courses will be in higher demand in 2012.

If you are interested in IT Security there is a good website called which gave me many hours of fun watching and learning many exploits for fun obviously. Interestingly enough he has now also started teaching IT Security and Universities across the United States.
